Antwerp Central Station

The Central Station of Antwerp is truly a must-see when you are in the city. Why? The American magazine Newsweek The station was ranked high in the world's top in 2009. Plenty of reasons to visit this beautiful station, even if you're not taking the train. The current building was constructed between 1899 and 1905. In the middle of the last century, the building was in very poor condition and there was even talk of demolition... This was prevented when the building was granted protected monument status around 1975. It wasn't until 1986 that the restoration of the station began, a task that lasted until 1998.
