Main Market Square

Grote Markt is the magnificent historic square in the old city centre. The square is lined with beautiful guild houses and other historic buildings, which make it one of the main attractions in Antwerp.  It is not for nothing that the Tourist Office is located here. The magnificent sixteenth-century Stadhuis (city hall) and the central Brabo Fountain complete the picture. In the wintertime, the square is transformed into a fairy-tale winter wonderland with an ice rink and Christmas market. In the summertime, the cosy atmosphere and many terraces attract large numbers of visitors to the square. Order a drink, and enjoy the beautiful architecture and old-town ambience.
